Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What is virtual counselling?
Virtual counselling (also known as tele-therapy or online counselling) involves meeting with your therapist via secure video or phone instead of in person. It offers the same support, confidentiality, and care—just from the comfort of your own space.

2. Is virtual counselling effective?
Yes. Research shows that virtual counselling can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many mental health concerns. Our therapists are trained to build strong therapeutic relationships and provide evidence-based support online.

3. Is your online platform secure?
We use a secure, encrypted video platform that complies with Canadian privacy laws, including PHIPA and PIPEDA. Your privacy and confidentiality are always protected.

4. What do I need for a virtual session?
All you need is a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone (such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer). Headphones are helpful for added privacy.

5. What issues can be addressed virtually?
Most concerns—such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, grief, and more—can be effectively addressed in virtual sessions. If your counsellor believes a different form of support would be more appropriate, they’ll discuss options with you.

6. Is virtual counselling covered by insurance?
Many extended health benefit plans do cover virtual counselling. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your coverage. Receipts will include your counsellor’s credentials for reimbursement.

7. What if I have technical difficulties during a session?
If you experience technical issues, your counsellor will attempt to reconnect. If that’s not possible, they may follow up by phone or reschedule the session. We’ll work with you to ensure minimal disruption.

8. How do I book a virtual session?
